Skiing ~ part one

This year, we could not have been luckier with our skiing holidays, we had blue skies, sunshine and fabulous powdery snow for almost our entire stay. It was total bliss.

In the mornings, DS had his skiing lessons, and DH & I hit the pistes together, occasionally stopping for a coffee or vin chaud , enjoying being just the two of us for a few hours. In the afternoons we'd all ski together, with DS of course leading, at breakneck speed. The older he gets, the more sportif our holidays seem to become ;-)

On most days, we met up with DS at the L'Arpette restaurant for our lunch...

having built up a considerate appetite all morning :-)

Over the last summer, the charming owner of the Arpette has redecorated her Chalet, using all-natural materials in white, cream and light grey/brown. Her great taste and fantastic eye for detail produced a fabulous end result, and a beautifully light, cosy and chic atmosphere.

DS completed successfully his ski course, proudly gaining his bronze star. He is already looking forward to the Étoile d'Or course next year!

  4. Hello and welcome back, dear MaiTai. The pics proof you were blissed and you sound so enthusiastic! Wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing. One feels a little bit (ski)lifted up, too, simply by watching and after having spent a couple of weeks in grey rain, here) Did I spot a fur by any chance, hehe? How did you fix it and what if it fell into the snow?
The hotel looks lovely. Would liketo go there instantly.
And DS looks great, almost like a skiing ace; congrats to the bronze star.

  5. Thank you for your lovely message, dear angolfa, so nice to hear you enjoyed the little reportage, it was such a happy time indeed :-) Well spotted re the fur, it was fun to put them to the test.. all 'firm' knots worked well. The only time it fell into the snow was with me, but my behind took the worst, lol. Will forward your comment to DS, he'll be thrilled. Hope you have plenty of spring sunshine coming your way. x

  13. angolfa, happy you asked, having exchanges here is such fun. Pauillac has applied the scarf fur collar's two loop method to a 90 Carré. Before, I have only used this method with smaller scarves (up to the 70 size), but the result with a 90 is simply stunning. You can see a pic of her look in the Customer Collage section of my fur collar site :-) http://scarffurcollar.blogspot.com/p/clients-photo-collage.html

  14. Thank you! Looked it up and find it really impressing. Gives a completely new approach to a "simple carré". Will try it myself. Thank you Pauillac and MaiTai...x
