Hopelessly behind...
This weekend was very much taken up with DS' 10th birthday celebrations. The actual day was on Saturday and the party with friends today, which is why I am very much behind on catching up with comments, emails and posts.
Loved reading everyone's comments on the last couple of posts, and look forward to a tranquil time tomorrow, getting back in touch.

Dearest MaiTai, A big Happy Birthday and all my best wishes to your DS! A 10th birthday is so special - and looks like he had a spectacular celebration. You are the best mom - who also happens to make amazing birthday cakes...you should see me trying to study what all the goodies are on this unique and magnificent creation!! Many thanks Ritournelle. It is the same basic recipe as for the cupcakes of a previous post

Instead of filling the mix into the cupcake tray, line a 26cm cake tin, pour the mix in and bake for 35-40 minutes. Repeat process. Let both cake discs cool on a wire rack. Prepare icing, and use to cover cakes and to sandwich both cakes together. While the icing is setting, decorate the cake. For kid’s parties you can use sweets, but it looks also very pretty with walnut or almond halves, chocolate swirls etc.

The ‘goodies’ were his favorite sweeties, and I am more than happy to send a bag over to you, lol.
