One
could not imagine a more perfect place to wear the Circuit 24 Faubourg
than the Lou Cigaloun café in Provence..if only it was located alongside
a Formula One race course! ;)
It has been beautiful and summery today, and so I opted for chocolate and white capsule pieces
Capsule pieces: white jeans (Comptoir de cotonniers), chocolate top (Lauren by Ralph Lauren)
Shoes: silver Orans
Accessories: Hermès 'Circuit 24 Faubourg' 90 Carré, clic H enamel bangle in bleu indiens and Kelly in Ebene
Scarf
tying method: Ascot knot (click here for a how-to)
And a few more playtime snaps..
Scarf folded into pleats (as shown here), with the ends secured in a criss-cross knot with a horn shawl ring in dark sunshine
as above, only with the ends tied in the basic slide
Criss-cross knot with a grande horn scarf ring in honey
criss-cross half bow knot, secured with a grande horn scarf ring in honey
One
of the things I look most forward to when adding a new scarf to the
collection, is to try it with different wardrobe items, and see how it
adapts... here replacing the white jeans with checked woolen trousers,
which will be perfect on a warm day in early autumn. I love that this is a scarf for all seasons.
Wishing everyone a great and happy weekend xx
Love your new carré, very chic and so versatile! Have fun trying new combinations!
ReplyDeleteMerci, ParisParis!
ReplyDeleteI have found your site after googling 'capsule wardrobe' and it's just what I've been looking for! I love your style with the simple colours that mix and blend so well. I also love your scarves and so I went looking for some today but no luck - nothing I liked. I have put your site on my bookmarked page on my iPad so I'll be checking on regularly from now on.
ReplyDeleteMy lifestyle is a bit different from yours. I live in the uk in Norfolk but so many of your outfits and separates are transferable. Thank you so much for a wonderful blog!
Sally
A very warm welcome, dear Sally! So nice to hear how you found the blog, and hope you will continue to enjoy it here. Finger’s crossed for spotting a scarf which makes your heart sing!
DeleteGreat add to your collection and the video from last post is simply stunning.
ReplyDeleteI love most the way you tied the scarf in the first outfi.
Have a nice weekend,dear MatTai.
Many thanks, so happy you enjoyed the Circuit’s debut! Hope you had a nice weekend too :)
DeleteSuch a pretty and versatile scarf my dear MaiTai! It looks so good on you! :-) So simple and yet so chic. Love it!!! You are always so good at combining your wardrobe items! The result is pure elegance and style!
ReplyDeleteI also love to come home and play with my new scarves combining them with the different items of my wardrobe, creating new looks. It isso much fun! Big orange hugs and a wonderful weekend to you M xx
Hugs re the playtime at home! Our beloved scarves bring so much pleasure, and can be enjoyed in so many different ways. Happy you like the latest addition, merci my dear x
DeleteThese are surely the most stylish go faster stripes;) thansk for styling a summer and an autumn look, perfect proof that the scarf will work all year round.
ReplyDeleteIt was your comment on the previous post which inspired the autumn look. Many thanks, dear Bienchen!
DeleteDear MaiTai
ReplyDeleteWow fabulous ! This design has a big personality, and demands particular treatment. I love the ties which both you and Cecilia are wearing.
Happy Mothers' Day.
Terese
xo
Cecilia says hi and thank you! Your observation re the personality is so true :) Hope you enjoyed a most happy and lovely Mother’s Day! <3 (in France it will be on June 3, the dates seem to be different all around the world)
DeleteOh MaiTai you look wonderful - that scarf is just terrific and I love how different it looks according to the way you tie it. And lucky you to have had some sunshine - it hasn't found its way across La Manche yet :( xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you for the sweet compliments, dear Mrs Exeter. Special cargo full of sunshine on it’s way! x
DeleteGreat choice! I think about circuit 24 Faubourg as well, but have problems about finding the perfect cw for me. Have to sleep over it some nights...
ReplyDeletehttp://greenpinkorange.blogspot.fr/
Fingers crossed for finding the perfect CW!
DeleteDear MaiTai,
ReplyDeletevaaaaaavoom, w/ a whisper...as is typical MaiTai elegance.
I thought nothing could top the video, but just love the variations you discovered w/ this carre design.
Hermes needs to be prepared for this c/w to sell out quickly!
I especially love the way you show this carre can be worn spring/summer, fall/winter, w/ just a quick change of slacks.
I recall also, you have a most chic Bolide (isn't that also formerly called the Bugatti, a race car whose company didn't like a bag named after it, so Hermes renamed it?) in Prussian Blue.
I wonder how your lovely Bolide might look w/ this carre?
Thank you again for sharing w/ us your easy chic styling of basic pieces. I think it's also called 'sophisticated taste'. That's you for sure.
Oh my dearest s-a-m, how fun to have you here sharing your wit and knowledge with us! The Bugatti/Bolide is of course be THE perfect bag to go with the Circuit, vaaaavoom indeed! Overjoyed to be siblings with you <3
DeleteAs ever you look perfect dear Mai Tai : it takes an expert eye to select this scarf from the myriad beautiful scarves on offer at H this season .
ReplyDeleteIt looks terrific tied , and the brown /navy combination is just such understated chic.
I realise that your scarf collection is very balanced , and for every highly decorative scarf, such as Ex Libris en Kimonos , you have a subtle more neutral one .
I can't seem to discipline myself as the more obvious scarves call to me so loudly !
I have just bought but not yet received an old design in taupe brown, cream and black with turquoise accents , it may be my most neutral yet.
Congratulations on your new scarf dear Estrella, the color combinaton sounds absolutely lovely. Re buying scarves, diversity is definitely an aspect I like.. all those different atmospheres (personalities as Terese would say!) bring so much variety into a wardrobe, and adapt to the mood and occasion of the day. Wishing you a great week ahead, and much fun with your first neutral treasure!
DeleteLovely Mai Tai
ReplyDeleteThat ...is ...fantastic!
I have to agree whole-heartedly with Ms. Sally from Norfolk UK. Your website is a wonderful resource for ideas! Good fundamentals, choosing simple wardrobe pieces, how to use accessories, how to choose scarves and knots. So enjoy your posts. Keep up the good work!! You are my "go-to girl" for sartorial suggestions!!
Many thanks for the lovely and sweet comment, dear Gina, your appreciation means so much. Hope you will continue to enjoy it here, orange hugs to you <3
DeleteBeautiful looks MaiTai. Thank you for sharing your creative ideas. I really like the way your hair is pulled back and neutrals are worn so that the scarf becomes the star of the wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteThank you, my dear SMR. It is always a special joy to bring out the beauty of a scarf, and it is lovely to hear you enjoyed the pairing :)
DeleteI agree with the above. I thought nothing could beat the creativity of MT TV.
ReplyDeleteUntil, you found a cafe to match your new scarf! You blow me away! As always, you look beautiful in the simplicity of these looks. DH did a great job in providing you with a scarf for all seasons. I love this cw and may have to join you if I can find:)
Chin-chin to a happy weekend and your creativity, T xx
LOL re the cafe, my dearest friend! I would not go as far as trying to locate a matching drink though ;) It would be wonderful to become va va voom twins with you, good luck my sweet! Have a happy week ahead <3
DeleteMai Tai - you always seem to choose the most elegant, simple, yet beautiful scarves in the most unusual color combos that H offers each season. Love the retro feel of the turquoise with the brown.
ReplyDeleteAnd agree with others that your simple capsule pieces are just as interesting! Love the pleats on the simple Lauren top and that woven belt could not be cooler.
Sigh - I will probably being doing a fruitless search for this one in a few years - as I'm doing for the Madras "turtle" scarf now. I should just listen to you! :)
Oh Maria, you are so very sweet and kind, many thanks for the lovely warm welcome for Ms Circuit! Also happy you like the top, and hope you enjoy the next post... it is all about spring/summer capsule wardrobe pieces. Wishing you the best of luck for finding the Madras turtle on day soon :)
DeleteI think about you and your wonderful style when passing the Hermes store in Manhattan. I always stop in and admire everything!!! and imagine how you would wear this scarf or that bracelet. Love the Circuit 24 Faubourg and love your blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I loved visiting Manhatten and the Madison Avenue boutique last summer, and it is so nice to know that I am back there occasionally in your thoughts :)
DeleteThat scarf is soooo superb! Wish I could get off my H-embargo, but the economy must change first... :(
ReplyDeleteJohn in DFW
Hi John, nice to see you here! And what a sweet dog you have :)
DeleteI'm jealous that I can't wear browns, but it looks fabulous on you!
ReplyDeleteIt also makes me wish that H's idea of "turquoise" and mine lined up. I purchased the 04 CW, but it didn't work with my coloring so I've already sent it back for the 08 CW (navy interior, royal blue border). I'm quite excited to get this one as it will be my first graphic scarf while I already have two shawls (Tohu Bohu and H au Galop).
Glad you took swift action, my dear Laura! Hope Ms 08 will be perfect on you, the Circuit would be such a wonderful first graphic Carré! Good luck! <3
DeleteSuch a simple yet glamorous look MaiTai! You look lovely! I had never thought of wearing a chocolate brown in the warmer months, but you've shown me how lovely this colour can look. I love it paired with the white jeans and the belt too! Your new scarf is stunning and truly suitable for any season. I wonder if the white in it makes it so suitable for summer? This is another look I'm going to have to try to replicate - I just hope I look half as elegant!
ReplyDeleteWe finally have some sunshine here, so am off to take advantage of it!
Melusine x
So glad the sun has arrived! And many thanks for the lovely compliments <3 I wear a lot of black and brown during summer..combined with a lighter color it is always chic, and a perfect backdrop for our beloved silks! Have fun in the sun! x
Deletelovely, summery, crisp glamouresness at it's best ! I've been following you for over two years now and I'm still stunned by and always looking so much forward to each new look! xox, Macs
ReplyDeleteHow time flies, my dearest Macs! Your support and friendship throughout these years is so special and important to me, many thanks, my dear friend <3
DeleteMy dearest MaiTai,
ReplyDeleteAs dear Trudye said, you totally blow me away - only you would find the perfect cafe to wear this glorious scarf! I'm so love with the summer version - what striking contrast, and the buckle of your fabulous belt echos the links to perfection. Thank you for showing us so many gorgeous possibilities with this amazing scarf - so modern, bold, clean - so very inspiring <3
Hope you've had a beautiful weekend, wishing you a wonderful week ahead. Much love to you with big orange hugs xxx
My dearest friend, so very happy to be twins with you on this one! I love it for the same reasons as you.. as always, your thoughts and observations are so beautifully put. Here is to details, variations and the wonderful Circuit! Enjoy a very happy week xox
DeleteHi MT, I'm playing catch up on your last couple of posts. And hooray already Circuit is already getting her first outing. It looks fab with the brown RL top, that splash of turquoise is a winner on this design I think. As for the white jeans and woven belt - love it. Axo
ReplyDeleteC'est très élégant. Merci! :)
