England part four - Cornwall and capsule wardrobe #67

Breathing and feeling some cool air was a wonderful extra benefit of our vacation in the UK. While the beaches in the South of France get very hot and crowded during August, the beaches on our stop in Cornwall were blissfully cool and empty...absolutely perfect for long walks. And with a fresh breeze blowing, it was perfect weather for wearing scarves too!

Capsule pieces: coral jeans and black top
Accessories: Hermès 'Coupons Indiens' 90 Carré, clic H enamel bracelet in black and Kelly Dog bracelet in black croc.

the promenades sometimes involved a little bit of rock climbing too

A picture book pretty coastline!

  1. Lovely pictures Tai- I spent my summer holiday in Cornwall in June. Unfortunately the wet weather prohibited scarf wearing!

    1. Oh June was pretty terrible! We had some rain too, and I was amazed how quickly the weather could change from sunshine to storm. We were lucky most of the time though, which is just as well as I did not bring much in terms of rain gear.

    1. Happy weekend to you too, my dearest Trudye! It was so nice to walk the beach without getting fried, or burning the feet on hot sand. And it was topped off with a cone of cornish ice cream at the end!

    1. There is no room for two cars at the same time! Hence a lot of reversing is going on, always accompanied by smiles and waves :-)

  9. Hi MaiTai,
Thank you so much for the lovely horn scarf ring - perfect!
Is it possible for you to do a capsule jewellery recap, similar to your wardrobe capsules?
I am not very good at toning jewellery together despite my best intentions!
I am intending to buy the Horn Cuff this weekend when I have decided which of the lovely colours to purchase and also the fur collar, possibly caramel or camel - not sure which yet so any advice appreciated, my hair is Scandinavian light blonde with no yellow, some white grey streaks and with wet sand streaks. My Birthday is the 15th this month hence the indulegence!
    Kind regards,
    Marina (Dorset)

    1. So nice to hear you are happy with the scarf ring :-) Thank you also for the jewellery capsule recap request. It might be a nice addition to the next capsule wardrobe update! Re the fur collar, it sounds as if your coloring is cool, so the caramel would be perfect. Happy Birthday to come!

  10. You look great, dear MaiTai, as always!
Beautiful pictures - everything looks so peaceful and calm. I love England, haven been in ages, though. Must do something about it.
Funny, I wore exactly that scarf last night, although a tad bigger and in a different colorway, but it's so wonderful... :-) Have a very HAPPY WWEKEND :-)

  11. Sigh....another perfect look. And of course, I am coveting your Coupons Indiens like mad, wishing I could be scarf twins with you. Very brave of you to wear such nice shoes while climbing the rocks. They probably survived without a single scratch (unlike if I had worn them). ;-) Love all of your vacation pics.

    Warm hugs, dear.

    1. How I wish for you to come across the CI one day, my dear CS! The shoes survived without harm, on some parts in the back pocket of my jeans, though! Happy LD weekend <3 xx

    1. The Coupons Indiens came out in 2008, and then a few more emerged last spring. I have not seen it around for some time, but you could always ask in an H store if they could do a search for you. Alternatively, you could check the pre-loved/re-seller market and/or file a wish list with them.

  13. I was in Cornwall last summer - your post makes me long to go back. I was nowhere as elegant, though. In fact, looking at the pics when I got back, I had to rethink my whole idea of how to dress... This blog is the greatest inspiration.

    1. So nice to hear the post brought back happy memories, dear Viktoria! Many thanks also for the kind words re my blog :-) Re the outfit, my capsule wardrobe takes me everywhere! (I'd wear the same for a stroll in a city, by adding a black blazer and bag. For more chic still, I'd exchange the ballet flats for black pumps and for more casual, wear canvas sneakers instead).
