Capsule wardrobe #73 - cheap and chic playtime

Whenever adding a new item to my wardrobe, I look forward to playtime... to find out how it mixes and matches with existing pieces,  and to discover how it transforms cherished staples into new looks.

Regardless whether the new item is an accessory or piece of clothing, or if it was expensive or cheap... the twisting of the capsule kaleidoscope is fun with them all. My recently bought 'cheap and chic' sweater  is no exception, and it is great fun to discover a few shades of grey...

  3. I love the first outfit, especially with the Ballerinas, the scarf and the bracelet being "transitions" between etoupe/taupe and grey - really beautiful and so elegant! Again I am confirmed that I have to invest in accessories. ;-)

    1. Love H&M too, made a few very good purchases over the years. The jeans are from 'Un, deux, trois's current AW collection, so chances are pretty good that they are still available. I know they have boutiques in Germany, perhaps you can find out more via their website:

Fingers crossed for the CLF, and good luck with the jeans!

  7. DearMai Tai
I love your blog and I love your inspiring minimalistic approach to dressing peppered with quality accessories. You are also a very beautiful woman who carries herself with poise and charm. I have a question: what shoes do you wear? I see some are RV, but ballet ones? some are Blochs, but which ones? and the ones in this post, the two tones? Thanks for your help. Bernadette

    1. So nice to hear you enjoy it here, many thanks, dear Bernadette. Love ballet flats (I wear many different brands, Blochs are very comfortable, but I love Repetto too. The ones shown above are by Dorfer...bought in a tiny boutique in St Germain. They were not expensive, but they last very well and are truly comfortable!). The Blochs I have are black patent leather. Hope this helps :-)
