A quick look into the Rive Gauche store
With an hour to spare before the departure of our train, we went for a drink at the Train Bleu,
in the Gare de Lyon train station. I cannot imagine a more beautiful,
opulant and elegant place to wait for a train, it always make me look
forward to the journey back home.

Me too! Chin chin, my dear Manuela ~ and have a wonderful week ahead!
DeleteI love the "Train Bleu", thank You for the woderful photos. So many many years ago I have been in Paris and did not know the restaurant. On a Sunday I has been invited to a railroad station restaurant. I was a little unhappy, because at this time that means in Austria you have to expect nothing good. What a surprise! I was overwhelmed!
ReplyDeleteI am still amazed by the opulance and elegance everytime I go, I can only imagine how incredible it must have been to enter with no (or low!) expectations!

DeleteHello MaiTai, Loved the peek inside the Rive Gauche store - what an amazing piece of sculpture/ architecture it is. Based on pictures you have posted in the past of Train Bleu, my husband and I had a glass of champagne there before boarding our train for Venice in March last year. It is such a beautiful space, truly extraordinary and a reminder of the romantic era of travel. Thank you for the recommendation! xx
ReplyDeleteDear Heidi, so lovely to hear you and your husband had a wonderful time at the Train Bleu. Seems like the perfect spot for embarking on a trip to Venice!
