In the last
few days, the season seems to have changed on a daily basis... going
from rainy and chilly winter to a summery and warm spring, and then back
again.
Colorwise,
a mix of light (or color) and dark always work well this time of year, giving a nod to both seasons. For cool mornings, a coat
can be added and the scarf worn in a cosy cowboy knot. Once it gets
warmer during the day, a blazer can be worn solo, and the scarf tied
into a low knot or worn in the basic bias fold. Around midday and the
afternoons the sun can be quite powerful, so removing the blazer and
tying the scarf into a belt or sash is a good way to stay cool and fresh
during an outdoor lunch or a sudden rise in temperature.
Capsule pieces: black shirt and trousers, beige blazer

DeleteI love the way the colours you are wearing reflect the colours in the photos you've taken, and the idea of combining darker and lighter colours to reflect the changing weather is a really good one. The scarf looks stunning as a belt with the dark backdrop and the lighter jacket. A look I'll have to copy in a few months when the weather warms up!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely orchid too!

Une belle fin de semaine à vous!
Our weather, hear in Philadelphia, seems to be flip flopping in exactly the same way, so your post is most appreciated!
ReplyDeleteCan you please tell me where your mesh ballet flats were purchased?
As I'm recuperating from my broken patella, I've been on the look out for some pretty alternatives to my Chanel and my red Repettos.
Thank you, Mai Tai!
Barbara A
Glad you are recovering, my dear Barbara. I bought the mesh ballet flats in a small boutique in Düsseldorf, Germany, but this was more than six years ago. Have you ever tried Bloch ballet flats? They have a cushion in the heel, which makes them incredibly comfortable. Hope the weather will sunny and nice over the weekend!
DeleteWhoops! I meant "here" in Philadelphia....
ReplyDeleteI love the pale blazer with the black blouse. It's lovely and chic! I also like how you are wearing your scarf. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Jill, happy you enjoyed the post!

Thank you for the lovley comment, dear Mandy. It is wonderful to know you enjoy it here.
DeleteDear MaiTai, wanted to thank you for the support on journey. As purchasing H scarves IS a journey, at least it has been so for me. Finding the colours, patterns, precisely finding out what fits us best... It has taken time for me, I have done good and bad decisions and sometimes I did not want to give up my decision, then realized it was wrong. Your blog is an extraordinary guide and you helped me a lot. I am not copying you, but watching the outfits and learning - so precious to me! Still travelling :) ...
ReplyDeleteLea
Dear Lea, thanks so much for the lovely comment, and for sharing you experience and journey. You have put it so well, it takes time to find what suits us best, and which colors, designs, shapes and materials (for clothing) flatter us, and make us feel happy and comfortable. It is wonderful to know that my posts have been useful along the way :-)
DeleteDearest MaiTai,
ReplyDeleteHow so true, the never ending yo-yo of early spring. Your light & dark outfit is brilliant - so striking and gorgeous, just perfection. What an extraordinary eye you have, dear MaiTai, no one can tell a story through pictures like you. So very inspiring and most uplifting <3 Thank you as always. Wishing you the most wonderful weekend. Much love to you and big sunshine hugs xxx
