Dear Mai Tai,
ReplyDeleteIn spite of the still warm weather I absolutely love your new additions..
The LBD by Gerard Darel it's ABS FABS... Can I copy you????
It seems that as a women of certain age we never have enough black pieces.... in my last trip to Paris I bough an Anne Fontaine chemise in white with some details in black, and another LBD....
I can't wait to see how you are going to "play" your new pieces with your wonderful scarves collection.
How do you plan your new seasons additions?
Which one come first, the lovely Picotin or the clothes?
As always thanks in advance for your kindness and generosity
Regards from Barcelona
It is still warm here too, dear ilsa (after all, we are not too far from you). The early mornings are wonderfully crip and cool already, and autumn is definitely in the air... Re your question, the Picotin came first. I already had a longing for mustard colors ... so when I saw it, I knew it was perfect. The black pieces should work for years to come, and the little skirt bring a fresh breeze to some trusted winter staples. Good luck with your shopping, it would be great to become twins on the dress with you!
DeleteYour fall wardrobe is off to a great start! All my favorite colors and how great is that coatdress, so chic! This reminded me to pull my picotin bag out of hiding...love your wonderful classic style!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to hear you like the new additions, merci! Hope your Picotin has many happy autumn outings to come!
DeleteDear MaiTai,
ReplyDeleteYour new fall pieces are just lovely and so classic. I especially like the black sweater dress with the leather patch pockets! Can't wait to see how you style your new additions.
Thank you for sharing your classic and timeless looks with us.
Anxiously waiting! Simone
Thank you, my dear Simone! The dress seems to be quickly making friends (it won me over in a heartbeat too)! Hope you'll enjoy the upcoming looksheets featuring the new additions, and have a wonderful autumn ahead!
DeleteVery nice additions, dearest MT. Gorgeous color selection for your new Picotin. I'm anxious to see your new mustard skirt in action. It speaks 'Photo Finish' to me foremost, likely because we're scarf twins on this one. And I agree with Barcelona, the dress is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteWarm orange hugs,
CS
You are so right, my dearest CS... 'our' Photo Finish will be such a great autumn companion for the new skirt and Picotin! Can't wait for cooler weather to come.. Autumn hugs x

ReplyDeleteThese are lovely additions to your wardrobe. I look forward to seeing how you style these.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, dear Catherine. Hope you'll enjoy the upcoming style sheets :-)
DeleteDear Mai Tai, although we're entering the reverse of your seasons, early Spring here in Australia, I am always in interested in how you interpret classic colour for each season. But what happens if, like me, black drains your face? What about converting the black in the capsule to navy blue or grey? Do you think it would still work? (With the correctly toned scarves of course)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to combine orange, taupe, camel and cream shades for our summer as per the beautiful Hermes summer windows from your earlier posts. Cheers and thank you.
Dear Prue, many thanks for the good question! You can absolutely replace black by navy blue or grey, or with charcoal or dark brown, or whatever color suits you best (mustard for instance, goes beautifully with all these too). But you could also wear black with a scarf... it acts as a color barrier, and illuminates your face regardless of the black underneath. Have a wonderful spring and summer ahead!
DeleteMorning
ReplyDeleteI love the new colours, I will be looking for similar now in the UK. Keep up the great style inspirations and as always love the photos.
Sue B, Kent

DeleteBrilliant additions to your wardrobe, especially the Darel dress! I can't wait to see how you're going to enhance them with your scarves and jewelry.
ReplyDeleteThe weather here, in Philadelphia is getting cooler (crisp in the evenings) and I couldn't be happier. Soon, the trees will be blanketed in reds and golds, and aroma of pumpkins and spruce will permeate the air! Yay!
Barbara A
Oh your descriptions of autumn joys are so evocative, my dear Barbara! Can't wait for it to arrive. Our weather is similar to yours. Hope the days will become crisp soon too, and out come the boots, sweaters and furs. Have a wonderful autumn ahead!
DeleteDear MaiTai,
ReplyDeleteLove your new additions and look forward to seeing them in your action shots,
Especially love your new Picotin, can I ask how your liking the GM size compared to the MM. I have a Picotin GM Gris T myself and was thinking maybe if to buy another colour to get an MM size.
Have a lovely week
Jane x
Love both sizes, dear Jane! The GM is fabulously casual, and looks great carried over the shoulder. The MM can easily swing from casual to a bit more dressy, and because it is smaller, it's also perfect for a fun pop of color. Love the sound of your GM in GrisT, what a great combination!
DeleteHi Mai Tai,

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new capsule pieces. I look forward to seeing them combined with your pretty RV and some of your scarves. Your Picotin is truly pretty and 'kraft' such a lovely colour. Have a wonderful day. Autumn hugs, Manuela xx

DeleteThanks for sharing your lovely new purchases with us, they are gorgeous. I really like the dress in particular, dresses are so easy. I have made a few autumn purchases myself - all in a beautiful rose pink cashmere from Brora - various separates, including I have to confess, socks and mittens - I like to be prepared. But for now the weather is very clement here in the UK, so I will keep those wrapped up against moths and put away for now. Thanks for your inspiration.
