ReplyDeleteFor your next challenge please do something with leopard print.
Thank you Maitai. x
My favorite pair of jeans in the eighties were white with black and fuchsia(!) leopard dots. I have not owned anything leopard since. It's been clearly too long!

Hello dear ilsa, after quite a wet winter, I’m looking forward to spring too! And the new scarves, of course. Haven’t seen that many yet, but I like the ‘Au coeur de la vie’ too, (this is probably the one you meant?) I have it in a mousseline x
DeleteDearest MaTai,
ReplyDeleteLove all your looks...really like the way the asymmetrical wrap looks with the blazer. I will have to give it a try. The foot shot is a great way for us to see your gorgeous RV's on you along with your beautiful Birkin! Lovely, as always.
Simone, xx
The asymmetrical wrap drapes so soft with the vintage silk, I very much like that look too. Have a lovely weekend ahead, dear Simone xx
DeleteLove navy! The long cardi and jeans is a great classic look on you! Perfection! Thanks and have a great day. Rather cold and grey in UK today. s
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear S! Hope your weather improves soon ☼
DeleteThis is a great style challenge as I´m very fond of blue too. Thank you to Jane van der Meulen and to you, my dearest MaiTai, for these very stylish and fabulous looks!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite is the one with the blazer but I have become very fond of the Kettlewell Colours wraps as well. They are so flattering and easy to combine with scarves.
Your "Courbettes et Cabrioles" is a beauty and you look fabulous, my dear <3
Have a lovely day! M*
Merci my dearest Manuela! It is always special to bring a vintage beauty out to play. So happy also that you like the KW wraps... I love how easy they are, and the quality is just lovely. Hugs x
DeleteI love both options :)
ReplyDeleteMany thanks!

ReplyDeleteHi, would love to see a posting about the "Le Pégase d'Hermès" as an inspiration for a capsule wardrobe.
Thank you. Jessica
Thank you, Jessica. Only I don’t own the scarf... If you have a specific CW in mind, would you email me a picture? :-)
DeleteDear MaiTai:
ReplyDeleteI come back to the blog to analyze these combinations because it is hard for me to decide which one like me the best. I wish to deconstruct them so I can apply the same recipe to my outfits. The key is that you balance the pieces so well that both combinations have the same level of elegance. In the first, you use a more formal jacket with a casual top, and the second, you go with a cardigan and a more formal shirt, and then, of course, you combine the style of the pants, the purses and the knots. I am amaze how you do that so nicely. As I said in my previous comment, I love both combinations.
Hello again, my dear Perla! You are absolutely right, it is all about balance :-) Have a happy weekend ahead.
DeleteThank you for showing a more casual look--it's nice to know I can wear a scarf any day and with any outfit!
ReplyDeleteMerci, dear Greta. Here’s to scarves.. any day!
DeleteDear MT. Perfect. Now you need the croc's dark blue bag.........

Oh...the icing on the cake! Amitiés
DeleteHi Mai Tai, first time commenter, although I devour all your posts! How do you do it? You always look amazing, and have inspired so many women, I only wish I could carry off outfits like you. You deserve every success. Well done. Best wishes, Susan.
ReplyDeleteA very warm welcome to our chat corner, dear Susan! And thank you so much for the lovely comment and kind good wishes.
DeleteI'm nuts for navy so this is one of my favourite posts. (Remember I immediately asked "what is the colour of that blue Birkin?) Smashing look, as usual. I love love love the Kettlewell pieces! They're having a sale on those lovely draped cardigans. Time to stock up!
ReplyDeleteI also agree with Faux Fuschia...bring on the leopard.
Have a spectacular week~
Oh là là...the leopard movement is gathering momentum! Will make sure to forward your lovely comment to Kettlewell, so happy you are pleased with them!
DeleteGreat looks! The second one slays me as it more easily fits my lifestyle. Whenever you wear your Courbettes et Cabrioles, I am reminded of my Early America scarf with the same colors, which always inspires me to bring it out to see daylight. It's another beauty that was my MILs. I must remember to wear the cuffs of my white blouses turned back, as the look is so stunning. All I need now is an H bag in etoupe! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWarm orange hugs, dear.
CS
Your special EA would drape so beautifully in this knot, my dear CS! Turning the cuffs up is a nice way to dress up a cardie, and works very well with a sweater too <3
DeleteLeopard please :D
ReplyDeleteAnother vote, wow!
DeleteThese are wonderful classic looks. Navy is timeless isn't it. Ax
ReplyDeleteHere’s to navy, my dearest A!
DeleteBonjour MaiTai,
DeleteUne autre admiratrice Mai Tai.
DeleteLoving these classic, chic and modern navy combos. I know you're a reptile loving gal but I've been wanting to see some leopard on you for a while! You don't have to go all "Peg Bundy" just try a touch. Maybe a hair calf bracelet or some little flats. Leopard and paisley are best buddies! xoxo
ReplyDeleteFive votes for leopard, how can I resist you girls! I know it’s been years since you suggested it to me , and I still haven’t got round to get a little leopard something yet. Will work on it, promise! xx
DeleteMarla, I chuckle! "Peg Bundy"!
DeleteGreat challenge and marvelous mastering of the challenge. I like both looks very much and perhaps prefer the second one a little more since I love cardigans and love the Picotin on you.
ReplyDeleteJust today, my navy cashmere boyfriend cardigan arrived and I am thankful for your inspiration. Now, I just need longer days to experiment with color in the daylight. I would also love to know which H scarf moves you this season.
Warmly,
Tanja
Happy you liked the challenge, my dear Tanja...perfect cardie timing too! So far, I have not bought a spring/summer scarf yet, they are so slow to trickle in. Will post as soon as I found my ‘coup de coeur’!
DeleteGorgeous collection!
ReplyDeleteMerci, Jen!
DeleteCan I just say that I love the comments on this blog?
ReplyDeleteSeems like you are going to have to beg borrow or steal something in leopard becuse it's what the People want Maitai.
I have a leopard cardy and a leaopard jacket and need to figure out what colours and styles would work with this? Somehting in neautral and caramel I'spose?
Meanwhile because I am a Joiner after you turned 5 I bought myself a new scarf and a new clic clac and it cheered me up no end x
Dear FF-- You might give your leopard a spin with something red or paisley. Leopard loves red and paisley! I don't have anything hot pink myself but it might look good with that, too. My personal favorite leopard/red combo is my red Celine sheath dress with a fur-collared, cashmere leopard cardigan (belted) finished with my orange/gold Kuggor Tree scarf from 2001 (ref 002110 cw 08). If I wasn't cooking my little heart out today, I'd put the outfit on or lay it out and snap a pic for you! xoxo
DeletePS I'm the one who heard your voice when I was in Anthropologie and bought a sequined skirt! Not my normal style but I love it!
Hooray to the new scarf and clic clac!! Will hop over to your blog in a minute, hoping to see your new beauties. Love how your request sparked leopard fever, I'm officially on the hunt! xx
DeleteMarla, I love the red idea and nice work with the Sequins. x
DeleteMarla, Love the idea too! FF, I'm edging closer ;-) Hugs to you both xx
