Style challenge submitted by haverfordgal via blog post comment on the previous scarf look sheet challenge:
Perhaps you can help me with my newest silk, Wa' Ko-Ni in cw 15. I'd like to wear it with pieces that transition from Winter, as well as with Spring and Summer outfits. Any suggestions?
Many thanks...looking forward to more posts like this!!...
Thanks so much for the request, dear haverfordgal! This has been interesting challenge, mainly because the scarf's predominant color is green.. a color which is completely absent in my wardrobe and accessory drawer! You will recognize most of the pieces in the style sheets as my own, but to resonate with the colors my capsule wardrobe is lacking, I borrowed a few tops from www.kettlewellcolours.co.uk and a couple of accessories from www.hermes.com. It's been interesting to discover to what extent a scarf in colors 'out of the usual' can be incorporated into an existing wardrobe, and how many pieces need to be added to create a broader variety of looks. Merci encore!
Look #1
Dear MaiTai,
ReplyDeletejust so amazing! Love them all. Can´t find words.
Have a wonderful week
Gabriele
Thanks so much, dear Gabriele!
DeleteYou blow me away, dear friend, with your unending style and creativity! I really do not know how you find the photos that reflect the style sheets so well...amazing! Then you take a color that is not in your wardrobe and work it like there is no tomorrow! Great challenge haverfordgal...tons of ways to wear your new silk...enjoy! Thank you dearest MT for getting my creative juices flowing;-) Have a wonderful week, T xx
ReplyDeleteAgree with you, my dearest Trudye..haverfordgal gave us great challenge! It was fun to play with a completely different color palette, and I was so happy to have found the pictures to get me into the mood! Have a fabulous week too <3 xx
DeleteYay! Thank you dearest MT for giving me style inspiration for my scarf! Each look is PERFECTION. And, as a leopard print fan, I'm tickled to see that you've included the animal print blouse! Now, I must get a Pico in Camel. Love how it looks here, and such a versatile colour. Kettlewell makes fantastic key pieces for any wardrobe. I can't tell you how happy I've been with everything. Well...I'm off to play in my closet! Many thanks and have a stellar week dear MT!
ReplyDeleteGreat style challenge haverfordgal ! This is a beautiful scarf with tons of color depth!
DeleteStyling options that our fearless, uber talented leader has given you are awesome...have fun playing;-) Trudye
Thanks so much again for the super challenge, dear haverfordgal! It has been great to play with a scarf CW that is so different from the ones I own.. very refreshing! Very happy you like your Kettlewell pieces, will forward your kind comment to them :-) Have a fabulous week too!
DeletePS. The PIco GM is in 'Kraft' by the way, it's a sort of mustard/camel/gold. Love it dearly!
Trudye... big mwahs to you <3 xx
Dear Madame Maitai, I am so pleased myself to see this challenge as I own a Hermes scarf in green and brown CW...you have put together some great combinations and I always love your style sheets; but it's easier to 'see' these looks when they're assembled together; and we can also see how you tie the scarf....I don't suppose you'd do some of your selfies' of yourself wearing some of these looks for the green-brown CW ? :-)
ReplyDeleteCheers, your fan, Mandy
Hello dear Mandy! I is truly wonderful to hear that the post inspired you to get your vintage beauty out to play! Re the pictures, I'm really sorry... I don't own this scarf, so no knotting or mirror shots this time.. x
DeleteThose Max Mara 7/8 pants are interesting. They seem to take on different colours. In these pictures, they take on a tinge of the green, and in one of your previous posts you wore pink with them and they look pinkish. :-) Emily
ReplyDeleteThey are Chameleon trousers... a really lucky find!
DeleteOh beautifully executed as usual, I too think that scarf is quite a challenge but it really is so versatile.
ReplyDeleteIncidentally, I have been living in my Orans this summer, so comfy.
Love my Orans too. Have a happy summer!
DeleteWhat a beautiful rainbow of outfits. Impossible to vote, as the decision is too difficult (for me).
ReplyDeleteHugs, Lea
Glad you like them all, dearest Lea!
DeleteI, too, love this style challenge and have a vintage green/brown 90 Hermes scarf that I have yet to wear for lack of ideas. It is wonderful to see the photos for your inspirations. You have such a knack for this and I am grateful that you are sharing your talents.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Tanja
Hope you are having fun finding new combinations for your vintage treasure, dear Tanja! So glad you enjoyed the post. Love the sheets too, they allow me to play outside my own closet :-)
DeleteBeautiful as always! You make such perfect combinations, I am full with admiration for your sense of style and beauty.
ReplyDeleteSo kind of you to say, many thanks dear J!
DeleteSo many options with just one scarf.. inspiring as always
ReplyDeleteHappy you enjoyed the post, thank you!
DeleteGood grief MT- absolutely amazing what you can do with just one simple scarf !!
ReplyDeleteMore please !!!!
Thanks so much! I had such fun with this post, and it's so nice to know you enjoyed it too. There will be more over time!
DeleteThis post floored me. So many different looks out of one scarf that, initially, I would have thought a limiting CW. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteBTW, from where is that beautiful picture with the birds? I love it!
Happy you enjoyed the post, many thanks dear Maria! The beautiful birds are in the Ladurée tea salon in the Rue Bonaparte, Paris. You can see some more pictures here: http://www.maitaispicturebook.com/2014/03/spring-postcard-from-paris.html
DeleteGood morning Mai Tai. Back I found your very ngenious arrangement with one scarf only.
ReplyDeleteAmities
Monica
Welcome back, dear Monica! It's good to see you again, hope you had a lovely time away! Amitiés
DeleteWell done!... would it be possible to do something similar where knot recommendations for various types necklines can be made?
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for the great suggestion! I've added it to my list :-)
DeleteMany thanks! Happy you like Ms Gris-T, she's my current favorite bag too.
ReplyDeleteDearest Maitai,
ReplyDeleteYou leave us all speechless with your infinite imagination - I am awe-struck each and every time I see your magic come to life! Each composition is so perfect, so complete, so much poetry - you always show me so much to reflect and think about - what a wonderful world you bring us. Much love and giant orange hugs to you xxx

DeleteA very happy and warm Summer to you too. Big hugs, Manuela
I couldn´t agree more with dear Trudye. "You blow me away" with this post, my dearest Mai Tai! I´m sure it took quite some time to make it, although it looks so easy as if you just took the different outfits out of a magical sleeve...
ReplyDeleteYour are truly amazing! My favourite looks are nr. 2,3 and 8. Big hugs, Manuela xx
