The current Hermès windows evoke a carefree breezy summer vibe, and are held
in beautiful neutrals with an occasional splash of color. The
decoration consists of natural materials such as dried palm leaves,
pebbles, sand and wooden beach loungers, all set against an amazing backdrop of palm tree photographs (by Cecile Bortoletti)
The
fabulous color schemes in the window displays can easily be adopted to
give a basic neutral wardrobe a fresh summery look. Below a few pairings
with pictures I found in my archives...

I
still remember the day the picture below was taken as if it was
yesterday, but it goes back to August 2009. Our stay coincided with one
of the hottest weeks Paris had had in years, which made it impossible to
accessorize with anything but necklaces (here an Hermès Lena necklace
in horn/silver)
This
next outfit goes back only a couple of years (2014). Wearing a
mousseline GM (Fantaisies Indiennes) in a vertical basic slide. Further accessories: Picotin 22 in sanguine and clic-H bracelet in marron glacé.
The last one is another recent picture from earlier this year. Wearing a 'Chaînes et Gourmettes' 70 carré as a necklace.
The rider on the roof, holding Brides Rebelles 90 carrés (from the SS2010 collection)
How beautiful they are. Nothing like crisp, cool neutrals for a hot summer's day.
ReplyDeleteAnd, YOU look like you stepped right out of one those windows!
Air kisses (it's too hot and muggy to hug),
Jerrine
You are of course absolutely right re the neutrals! Wish they'd make it into the scarves'CWs too.. Air kisses right back xx
DeleteExactly all what we love ladies. I'm going to make an hold-up in FSH windows! At least I'll go to jail elegantly dressed and accessorized... Hope the swans will bring me oranges ;)
ReplyDeleteWish all of you and our master of ceremony a wonderful vacation time.
Catherine xx
Cathrine,
Deleteno problem at all. I will visit you with Jerrine to lighten up your day. Of course, we will have with us one orange box, one other one filled with 30 Isphahan macarons and a scented candle to help you through the bad times. :)
Rita
In this case it really worth it! May I abuse and ask for a stock of products from City pharma, I'm not sure to find all I need in the bathrooms of "La prison de la Santé".
DeleteHugs girls,
C.
Haha Catherine! We will all visit you. My orange will have a file in it to aid in your escape. We'll be all in black with red lips like Robert Palmer's guitar-playing babes.
Delete;-) Fifi
Yeah, Catherine, we won't forget you as you languish in prison. (You know - here in the US most of the prison jumpsuits are Hermès orange!)
DeleteJust don't expect all 30 of those macarons to actually make it to your cell! Rita and I will have to perform several taste tests to make sure they're up to standards.
Happy weekend to all the Swans,
Jerrine
Well, dear Catherine, if you're lucky, you'll get orange overalls...then we'll bring you some neutrals to accessorize in style. But no, I have my hands on that Suede Birkin, you can't have that. I'm seriously considering smashing the windows, so I might just keep you company in jail, dressed in the orange overalls.
DeleteHappy orange greetings,
Katja
We'll all end up in the same cell.. that Birkin is certainly worth it! How about some Bellinis to go with the orange overalls?
DeleteYou are so funny Catherine! Yes I will bring you oranges in my Orange Birkin ....
ReplyDeletexX
Thanks so much Monica, hope to see you in this case, I'll let you know if I end up in Champ-Dollon ;-)
DeleteC.
While watching those window decorations in white / khaki I m waiting for the beautiful Ingrid Bergman and Humphrey Bogart to step out. They somehow look to me like the Casablanca set.... Beside the famous saying (here is looking at you) there is one other most meaningfull for us: we will always have Paris...
ReplyDeleteHow true.
As summer sales start I feel the need to stock up some neutrals. Thank you for the inspiration and for an other update.
Happy weekend and hugs,
Rita
Rita you nailed it! I could not remember the reference the windows reminded me of... Casablanca it is! Makes it all the more romantic, of course. Have a wonderful summer!
DeleteBeautiful post Mai Tai. Back to Hermes basics and it works **le sigh**
ReplyDeleteSo true. Hope we'll see more of the Hermes basics in the seasons to come!
DeleteI'm definitely not neutral about neutrals! So soothing to see on this disgustingly hot and humid day, where most of my energy is spent "unfrizzing" my hair!!
ReplyDeleteYou are ever beautiful dearest MT! Sending you sweaty kisses. 😊
Dear haverfordgal, the frizz is the worst, isn't it? Even my wispy hair frizzes on humid days. It's like a constant search for the magic product that protects without weighing the hair down. Sending you slightly cooler air from Seattle!
DeleteAnd fans,
Fifi
Hope it's less hot and humid by now, dearest haverfordgal! Parts of summer are difficult to take, last week has been far too hot here too (Fifi please send some cooler air to France as well!) xx
DeleteThank you so much for this refreshing Summer post of the FSH windows! They are inspiring as are your accompanying looks. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteActually, I think Hermes commissioned you to style these!
Have a wonderful weekend! Mwahs, T xx
Haha darling Truyde, that would be the day! Have a great rest of the week and a fabulous weekend ahead <3 Mwahs xx
DeleteOh, how I love neutrals! Those sandals are on my wish list. It's great to see that 2009 photo again, you look très chic all in black!
ReplyDeleteMuch aloha,
Fifi
A simple black outfit never looks dated, it just always works. Hope the sandals will be yours one day soon!
DeleteDearest MaiTai,
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to think that those FSH windows impress me a lot more when seen through your lense? Maybe they were just as fabulous when I was looking at them and I just didn't see their beauty...? All I can say, you anticipated them long ago and that speaks for your unparalleled sense of style...
Thanks for sharing and looking forward to more wardrobe inspiration.
Katja
Your lovely comment made me smile! Window pics are certainly a concentrated view, which brings everything more in focus than when we stroll past the treasures. A couple of more window wardrobe inspirations to come, hope you enjoy them too!
DeleteDearest Mai Tai,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing Hermes beautiful window displays. They are a feast for the eyes! But you know what? Even more beautiful are the pictures where you are on.
Truly inspiring and so much prettier! ❤️
Have a lovely day, Gorgeous! Kisses and hugs, Manuela xx
Oh my dearest Manuela, your lovely comment made me blush, thanks so much <3 How did you manage to include a heart into the message..so clever! Have a most lovely day too and a great rest of the week xx
DeleteI commented from my phone :-)
DeleteHave a wonderful weekend Darling! M xx
Dear MaiTai,
ReplyDeletethank you for the wonderful inspirations! For me your interpretations of the H-windows make it really perfect! I often copied your outfit from 2009 "black in black", because I love the pure and chic combination! Thank you very much for being my Style-Guide!
BTW I've got to tell you, dear MaiTai and all Swans, that I'm prepared!!! I've got the nicest and loveliest pajama I ever had! He is so wonderful that I hardly can't take him off in the mornings... So please tell me when and where our pajama-party starts and I will be there!
All the best from hot germany
Claudia
Dear Claudia, I'm so happy that you love the pyjamas.. the party can begin! Mind you, it's been almost too hot here to wear them recently, so we might have to wait for a respite from the heat. Still love the 2009 outfit too (and still have the same 'ingredients'!)... it really is a testament how timeless black with a little H is :) Liebe Grüsse!
DeleteDearest MaiTai...I always seem to write in the same thing, but have to say again, THANK YOU for the beautiful and inspiring blog! The posts are always so inspiring and I return again and again to the tutorial page. Your pics of yourself are lovely-whether recent or from "a while ago". I often try a little something new or extra based on the blog.
ReplyDeleteCathy Wong
Dearest Cathy, - your lovely and kind comment made me day, thanks so much! I makes me so happy and fullfilled to know that the blog inspires, old and new posts alike! Wishing you a wonderful summer and have a great rest of the week x
